On March 19th and 20th, 2010 AmericanRoots.net will be sponsoring a Steve Kaufman Flatpicking Workshop in Fayetteville, AR along with Janet Davis Music and Good Folk Productions. Kaufman is known throughout the bluegrass and roots-style music world for his prolific talent as both a player and teacher. This is a two day, 8-hour workshop which costs $90 per student. The event will be held at GoodFolk Productions, 229 North Block St., Fayetteville, AR. Enrollment is limited to 20 students so you'll need to hurry to get a seat for this cant-miss opportunity.
The first session will be two hours from 7-9 PM on the evening of the 19th (Friday) where Steve will get to know each of the student's strenghts and weakneses. From here he will tailor the session on the 20th (9:30 AM - 3:30 PM) where he will cover picking skills and techniques, repertoire and building blocks for growth.
On the evening of March 20th at 8:00 PM their will be a concert featuring Steve who is a three time national guitar flatpicking champ.
